Wedding Daze
We had a lovely time at Helen & Steve’s wedding a couple of weekends back. They got married at St James’ Church in Braithwell, which was very quaint and pretty. The church dates from Norman times, and there are features dating from the 12th, 13th and 14th centuries on the inside.
I’d like to go back on another day and have a proper look round the church and graveyard, I do love an old church!
The service was wonderful, and Helen arrived just after 1.00pm looking beautiful. I’d seen photos of the dress before the big day, but it looked even more stunning in real life, covered in crystals! I also really liked the colours of the bridesmaids dresses, which were a sage green colour and really lovely (see photo below of Helen and Jayne).
Kerrie did some of the amazing wedding flowers. The colours were very vintage looking.
Unfortunately it started to rain just as everybody was coming out of the church and the umbrellas had to come out!
I loved the camper van waiting for Helen and Steve outside the church! I would so love a van like this!
There was a little gap in between the wedding and the evening do where there was a meal for family members and then the party started! The reception was held at Whitley Hall in Sheffield, which is a 16th century mansion house, now a hotel and wedding venue. There are picturesque grounds with peacocks!
Luckily the sun came out in the evening so there were lots of photo opportunities out in the garden, aswell as inside at the photo booth!
These were the Doc Martens that Helen wore for the first dance! (which was ‘It must be Love’ by Madness, an excellent choice I thought!)
There was an amazing chocolate fountain at the reception, a really tall one, which I’d been getting excited about for months before hand!
It was the best wedding ever, I had a brilliant time drinking, eating, dancing and falling over (apparently!)

Us four! - Kerrie and me drank a whole bottle of vodka between us in an hour, but we still look fresh!
Here are the happy couple!
And here is the card I made them…
Helen and Steve’s wedding photography was by Yorkshire Portraits.
Chocolate fountain by Chocolate Falls. (it was delish!)
